Hi Rich from Grizz Baits here, sorry I'm late with this blog, but the bass were biting!

Fishing at Quabbin this year has been fantastic. My first fish of the year was a 6.4 lb largemouth, caught on a spinner bait on opening day! Opening weekend saw some great catches with both myself and my partner Chuck catching about 17-19 lbs. each on Sunday, with the biggest being a 5.7 lb largemouth. Most of the best 5 bass were between 3.0 - 4.5 lbs with an equal mix of smallmouth and largemouth.

This year has seen some huge smallies caught. The biggest was a 5.8 lb 221/2" beast caught on a Rapala Perch minnow in about 2' of water! Chuck has boated two smallies over 5 lbs with the biggest being a 5.3 on a Grizz Bait Predator Prey Bluegill!

Post spawn brought a slowdown but they are back to their summer feeding patterns now! Last weekend I caught a real nice 4.5 largemouth busting a spinner bait through cattail reeds!
