First One of the Year!

After only going out striper fishing for 2 days this season I already hooked and landed my first striper of this season. It was a great day out at the Suffield side of the Enfield Dam. The weather was perfect you couldn't ask for a better day to go fishing. Sun was shining down into the hole where you could see a lot of bait fish swimming around in circles. I started out with a Gibbs pencil popper blue/white after seeing a fish boiling out in the slow water. He hit my lure but only hit it with his body...no hook-up. After throwing the popper for a while I decided to try my Gibbs Slammer blue/silver. My percistance finally paid off by hooking into a fish and having a free ride down river. After a 5 min fight I successfully landed a 28 inch bass. I was proud of myself, for hooking and landing a fish in that tough part of the river. I have been fishing down at the dam for 5-7 years and havn't caught anything at all. Now I can't say that anymore. So for those that think that there aren't any fish in the river I proove you wrong. They are here and waiting, so go out there and get'em.

Yes. I did enter the Striper Tournament and plan on catching one that will meet the requirements...hopefully the winner. Thanks for the reply Joe Fisherman, really appreciate it.![Big Smile [:D]](/CommunityServer/emoticons/emotion-2.gif)
