The Connecticut Fly Fisherman’s Association will present a fly fishing program on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Veteran’s Memorial Clubhouse, 100 Sunset Ridge, East Hartford, CT., at 7:00 pm

Larry Newmark will present “A Fishing Trip to Western Canada” at the November meeting. The area that Larry will discuss is actually the Crowsnest Pass area located about a 2 ½ hour drive south ofCalgary and is near the Alberta-British Columbia border. Larry has visited that area for a fishing trip each year for the last approximately 10 years.

This area has more rivers that you can fish in a lifetime including the Crowsnest, Oldman, Livingstone, Elk, Michel Creek and many others.   The fish include cutthroats, rainbows, some bull trout and an occasionalwhitefish. Larry has given presentations on fishing this Canadian area toTroutUnlimited, the Farmington River Anglers,
and the Hartford Sportsman's Club. Larry Newmark has been fly fishing for over 30 years.  He retired a little over 4 years ago.  His yearly fishing trips include bass fishing in Maine, striped bass fishing on Martha's Vineyard and a visit to the Crowsnest Pass area of Alberta, Canada fishing for trout.
Besides those trips, you can find him fishing the lakes in this area as well as fly fishing on the Farmington River, the Housatonic River and Deerfield

River. He still does some professional guiding for bass.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
